Playing the Piano

Jake is the funniest kid ever. Every week for Family Home Evening, he likes to "play" the piano while we sing. Well, of course he doesn't actually play a real song but he plunks away and we sing totally out of tune. His favorite song to "play" is Popcorn Popping but tonight I wanted him to play I am a Child of God. So, I asked him if he could play that song. Completely serious, Jake nods his head and says, "I think I can play that one." And he took the Hymn book and flipped through the pages until he found the right one. It was soooo cute because he was totally serious about playing the right song. Maybe you had to be there but I thought it was the cutest thing ever.

He is actually starting to play by ear a little bit. I really need to get him in lessons this fall before he stops enjoying it.

What a sweet little boy.

Reed (the Ag Agent I work with) needed some pictures of kids working with bees. So, naturally, the two of us have two boys a piece and our kids get to be the famous ones. I was really proud of the boys. They were completely at ease working right next to the bee hives. It was probably pretty crazy for me to be out there without any protection on but I was brave. I didn't get stung by any bees... only bit by mosquitoes. Isn't Jake's hat the cutest? The little cowboy hat cracks me up!

Weeds are cool!

Sam was a weed in the 1st grade play. "The weeds are cool," he told me. It was a really cute little play with square dancers, farmers, flower fairies, and weeds. I have loved having a first grader. I love that in the first grade, you can still be who you are and you are totally fine with that. You can wear your snow boots in April and have a Buzz Lightyear backpack and no one cares yet. It makes me sad to think that before long, Sam will be too old to wear some things or to give me a kiss. If only I had known the time would go so quickly, I would've stopped feeding him so he would stop growing. :-) Luckily, he still cuddles and kisses me now.

Oreos... YUMMY!

Aliza really loves Oreos! I'm not sure how she figured it out, but she even twists the top off and licks out the middle. As you can see, she eats the brown part, too.

Easter 2009

Easter was really fun this year. We went to the yearly neighborhood Easter egg hunt Saturday. There were only about 1/3 of the kids this year so our kids got quite the haul! I love that our neighborhood has that egg hunt. It is pretty fun.

I love the pictures of our kids. You can definitely see their little personalities coming out in these pictures. Aliza thinks it is really funny to make a goofy face when she sees the camera and Jake just makes a goofy face all of the time. Having kids is great.

Fireman Sam

Fireman Sam
Sam's kindergarten class went on a field trip to the firestation. Isn't he cute!?

The Cummins Kids!

The Cummins Kids!
My kids are soooo cute. Jake is ALWAYS giving Aliza bunny ears... in almost every picture I take of them I notice his fingers behind her head.

Birthday

Birthday
Jake's favorite scripture story is the one about Darth Vador. Of course he would need a light saver. Thank you grandpa!

Jake's 4th Birthday

Jake's bday was last week. He is still sleeping with the trucks Michelle, Shawn, KJ, and Paige gave him.

"B" is for...boys with bows and bracelets

The other day Sam and I were getting Aliza ready for bed after a bath. He told me that she looks like a boy when she gets out of the tub. I told him that is why we put bows in her hair and give her a bracelet so people will know she is a girl. He shook his head and said, "No, she just looks like a boy with a bow and a bracelet."

Sorry Aliza!
